RTP explained: what 96% actually means for your money
Every slot has an RTP — return to player — printed in its rules. It is the most misunderstood number in gambling. Here is what it really tells you, and what it does not.
The long-run number
A 96% RTP means that across millions of spins, the game returns 96% of everything staked and keeps 4%. It says nothing about your next session. Short sessions are ruled by volatility: a high-volatility slot pays rarely but big, a low-volatility one pays often but small.
Why RTP matters for bonuses
